Most of these stores mostly cater to DJs and huge fans of dance and electronic music. If you don't consider yourself one or the other, we can assure you that there's lots of good tunes to shop for on these sites—including music that you would NOT expect to hear out at the club.

boomkat
[website]
Boomkat is an online record store from the UK. They have a huge selection of great independent music of many genres, especially electronic music, presented on a beautifully designed interface. The reviews are very well written, making this a great place to discover new music. You can listen to entire songs (with a beep every 30 seconds), and even make a playlist with their music player that allows you to listen while you browse the site.

Thinner
[website]
Thinner is a netlabel, releasing music solely in digital format. They provide many flavors of electronic music, using a set of—somewhat abstract—icons as tags to identify the general, multiple styles of a release (experimental, dub, house, etc). Thinner has put out free MP3s for 10 years, and has recently added some paid downloads, as well. The interface may be a bit oblique, but if you go to the "releases" section (top screen above), you can find tons of high-quality, free MP3s offered under the Creative Commons License, available to share and remix. Simply click on the image associated with a release and you'll be directed to a download window (bottom screen above). Most tracks are available at 192 kbps by default with additional options at 320 kbps and as “flac lossless.”
